The short answer
A site that collects leads, takes payment or runs trackers needs five things: a privacy policy, consent next to every form, a cookie banner with a real choice, public terms or an offer, and the owner’s details with contacts. Missing any of them is grounds for a fine or a complaint under the laws of Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, the EU and the US.
1. Privacy policy
- A link in the footer of every page and next to every form.
- Who collects data, which data, why, for how long, how to withdraw consent.
- Working contacts: the address for requests actually answers.
2. Consent at the form
A separate “I agree to data processing” checkbox linking to the policy. Not ticked in advance and not buried in small print. It is the most common violation: a form with no checkbox.
3. Cookie banner
Analytics and ads switch on only after consent. “Reject” sits level with “Accept”. The choice can be changed later. If trackers load before the click, the banner is decoration.
4. Terms and offer
A shop or a paid service needs public terms: what you sell, the price, refunds, delivery time. Kazakhstani sites show prices in tenge.
5. Who is behind the site
Company or owner name, tax ID for Kazakhstan, address, email or phone. A buyer has the right to know who they deal with, and search engines and payment providers expect it.
How to check it all in a minute
Enter the address in Awe Check. It finds the policy, forms without consent, a banner that does not wait for a refusal, prices not in tenge and missing company details, shows the page where each was found and offers ready text. The policy and cookie banner generators fill their fields from the report.
Frequently asked
Which documents does a website need?
A privacy policy, consent at forms, a cookie banner, public terms (if you take payment) and the owner’s details. The exact set depends on your visitors’ countries and what the site collects.
Do I need a policy for a simple business-card site?
Yes, if it has a contact form, a visit counter or a chat: that is data collection. Without them a policy is not required, but questions start as soon as any of them appears.
Can I check a site for documents for free?
Yes. Awe Check checks the presence and quality of documents for free, shows the possible fine for each country and gives ready text.
Is it enough to copy a policy from another site?
No. A policy describes your data, your contractors and your retention periods. Someone else’s policy with someone else’s details becomes a violation of its own.
