Website scam and trust check

Before you buy, pay or enter data, paste the site address. In a minute you get a trust score from 0 to 100 and a list of what looks reliable and what looks suspicious.

Short answer: how to tell a site can be trusted

A reliable site runs HTTPS with a valid certificate, has a domain paid for more than a few weeks, a privacy policy, contact details and, for a shop, the seller’s company details. If something is missing, be careful. We check these signs automatically and combine them into one score.

What we check

  • ConnectionHTTPS, certificate validity and expiry, http redirect, HSTS, security headers, mixed content.
  • DomainDomain expiry and mail protection (SPF, DMARC) so nobody can send fakes in its name.
  • DocumentsPrivacy policy, terms or offer, contact details.
  • SellerCompany details in a shop: who sells and where to go in a dispute.

Website trust check: frequently asked questions

How do I check a website for scams for free?

Paste the address above and press the button. No sign-up. In a minute you see the trust score and the signs it is made of.

Does a high score guarantee the site is honest?

No. The score shows technical and documentary good faith: protection, expiry dates, contacts. A fraudster can buy a certificate and build a nice site, so before a large payment check the company by its details and reviews.

What if the score is low?

Do not enter payment or personal data on the site. Buy from another seller that shows company details, contacts and a secure connection.

How is this different from a virus scan?

A virus scan looks for malicious code. The trust score estimates how much the site looks like a legitimate business: protection, documents, domain age. Best to use both.

I own the site. How do I raise the score?

Open the full report: every item has a ready fix. Usually it is enough to turn on HTTPS and HSTS and add a privacy policy, contacts and company details.
