Fines for prices in dollars or “units” and for a cart total above the product page price: Article 193 of Kazakhstan’s Administrative Code, by business size.

What the violation is
A price in another currency can be shown in addition, but the main price must be in tenge.
- The price is in dollars, euros, roubles or “units” instead of tenge.
- The cart or checkout total is higher than the price shown on the product page.
Fines under Article 193
The repeat fine is over ten times the first one: once the violation is found, fix it across the whole catalogue at once.
- Part 4, first time: small business — 6 MCI (₸25,950), medium — 10 MCI (₸43,250), large — 30 MCI (₸129,750).
- Part 5, repeated within a year: 65 MCI (₸281,125), 120 MCI (₸519,000), 200 MCI (₸865,000).
How to fix it
- Show the price in tenge on every product page and in the cart.
- Make sure delivery, fees and mark-ups are visible before checkout and the cart total matches the page price.
- If prices follow an exchange rate, convert them to tenge automatically instead of writing “at the rate”.

Can I show a dollar price next to it?
Yes, as an extra. The main price at which the item is sold must be in tenge.
Does this apply to services and subscriptions?
The article covers the sale of goods. For services it is safer to state the price in tenge too, as consumer protection law also expects.
