Is the generator really free?
Yes. No sign-up and no limits. The text is built in your browser: nothing you type is sent to our server.
Can I publish the policy without editing it?
Yes, if your answers match how the site actually works. Check the list of services and the retention period: a policy that describes something your site does not do is itself a violation.
Which law should I pick if customers are in several countries?
Pick the law of the country where your company is registered and add a separate policy for any market with a large share of customers. EU visitors need a GDPR policy.
Do I need a consent checkbox in every form?
Yes. It must not be pre-ticked, it must link to the policy, and the form must not submit without it. Ready code is in the “Form consent” tab.
How is a policy different from consent?
The policy tells everyone how the site handles data. Consent is an action by a specific person: ticking the box before submitting a form.
How do I know everything is right?
