Can I merge mailing consent with data processing consent?
No. Marketing consent is given separately, and a person must be able to buy or submit a request without it. A separate checkbox protects you from complaints.
Do I need double opt-in?
The law does not always demand it, but it is best practice: a confirmation email proves the address belongs to the person and prevents spam to others.
What must every mailing contain?
A one-click Unsubscribe link, the sender’s name and a contact. Unsubscribing should work fast, with no sign-in.
Do mailings affect domain reputation?
Yes. Since 2024 Gmail and Yahoo require SPF, DKIM and DMARC for bulk mail and block domains with many complaints. There is a DNS record generator for that.
How long should I keep consent?
While the mailing runs, and after unsubscribing as long as needed to prove consent in a dispute. Terms depend on your country’s law.
